1. Always wear protective gear when handling fireworks. This includes safety glasses, gloves, and long pants and sleeves.
2. Never light fireworks indoors or near any flammable materials.
3. Keep a bucket of water or a fire extinguisher nearby in case of an emergency.
4. Never point or throw fireworks at another person or animal.
5. Make sure to read all instructions before lighting any firework and follow them carefully.
6. Dispose of used fireworks properly by soaking them in water before throwing them away in a metal trash can with a lid.
7. Do not attempt to relight a “dud” firework as it may still be active and could explode unexpectedly when handled.
8. Keep children away from fireworks at all times and never allow them to handle them without adult supervision.
